Ranger Running Build?
Can anyone hook me up with a decent running build? I won't be doing big drok's runs or anything, but like around the desert and stuff. My current secondary is Warrior, but i can change that of I have to. Thanks!

12+1 Wilderness Survival
Skills
Escape
Zojun's Haste
Dodge
Storm Chaser
Dryder's Defence
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defence

Uh well, you COULD just put all the stances you have on your bar and not use more than two, like Droven has, but instead you could run something like...
-XXX (I usually take Savage shot, and just interrupt anything trying to snare me)
-Mend Ailment
-Smite Hex
-Troll Unguent
-Dodge
-Zonjun's Haste
-Storm Chaser
-Escape {E}
Max out WS and Expertise, none in Mark and nothing in Smite or Prot or whatever. Not too tough to run the Crystal Desert with something like this.

For Desert Runs your don't need anything other than Escape, Dodge and Storm Chaser. Anything like Mending, Shields Up, Purge Conditions is just overkill there. For Elona running, Mending, Holy Veil, Purge Conditions. Dryders Defences is nice if your know you'll be up against ele damage (works wonders for running through Icehand/Breakers in FoW). Most places you can get away with 3 running skills, a seal heal and Mending though, Evasion takes care of the majority of crippling attacks.

A good running build depends largely on where you are running. I like to take Mending with me a lot of times when I run because it means I am less likely to need to stop and heal. The extra regen helps a great deal in many situations as well. The less you stop and heal, the faster the run goes. However since some places have some harsh enchant removal, Mending is not always the best choice.
Having Smite Hex and Holy Veil is usually a good idea if you will encounter many hexes. Purge conditions is also a good idea since it drops all your conditions at once. This helps a lot when you get crippled and then that condition is covered with something like Poison or Bleeding.
If you do bring mending, put 8 attributes in healing prayers for the +3 regen.

I run this from time to time when a guildie needs kryta, ascalon, or desert runs.
R/W
Expertise 16 (12+4)
WS 12 (11+1)
Tactics :w/e is left
Serpent's Quickness
Zojun's Haste/Sprint (if no exp. pack)
Dodge
Escape {E}
Storm Chaser
Troll Ungent
Healing Signet
Whirling Defense/Lightning Reflexes
Note: Bring a shield
Why bring Shield Bash? It's a non-stance skill that can keep the Forgotten Swordsman from crippling you (if escape isn't up). Serpent's quickness is for the times when you wait for a skill recharge, or need to heal yourself, that is 10 seconds off Escape & Dodge/Zojun. Also if you do not have the exp. pack, Sprint still lasts 8 seconds, and also has only a 20 second recharge. Good for an extra boost if a peskey AI mesmer somewhere diversions one of your other stances.

I have used this build from this link http://beacon.wiseelben.com/pve_builds.htm and has done every run with no troubles. Only things I have changed depending on where i run is smite hex for purge conditions. One thing I have noticed if you replace the wilderness survival down to 12 in total you'll notice that none of the stats change from if it was on 14. I have done runs in the jungle, desert and shiverpeaks etc and all seems fine, only thing is being r/mo is you dont get balance stance so in shiverpeaks can be annoying but if you use your skills wisely and depending how good a runner you are you'll get by with minimum fuss. I ran droks but didn't succeed but only as i didn't know where i was going as it was unexplored. Its all down to people own opinions i think as they have prefer there own builds but this works for me and im sticking by it. The reason i say this is I ran from warcamp to granite and down to grotto with hench and 4 players and once i arrived at grotto couple said they run droks and cant do granite to copperhammer and then to iron mines as well as i did and not as fast.

Do you really need a +5 energy weapon? When I'm running I don't think I ever get e-burned to the point where I can't activate an expertise-reduced stance....
Desert running requires 3 skills, dodge, storm chaser, troll unguent...
If you have it, fit in Escape{e}, balanced stance, charge{e}, shields up, whatever. But I have made most desert runs (with the exception of the dune wurms(which is what balanced stance would be used for)) with just those 3 skills. You just need to know where the mobs are and you'll be fine. Desert runs are wayy too easy for rangers...

Proffesions- Ranger [Primary]
- Monk [Secondary]
Attributes- Expertise - 12 + 1 (Rune)
- Wilderness Survival - 12 + 3 (Rune) + 1 (Mask)
- Protection Prayers - 5
Skills- Escape [Elite]......[Expertise]
- Dodge................[Expertise]
- Zojun's Haste......[Expertise]
- Purge Conditions..[Monk no attribute]
- Holy Veil.............[Monk no attribute]
- Troll Unguent.......[Wilderness Survival]
- Healing Spring......[Wilderness Survival]
- Rebirth...............[Protection Prayers]
Tips- Rotate between Escape, Dodge or Zojun's Haste.
- When running through a lot of Warriors/Assassins use Escape.
- When activating Healing Spring you are easily interruptable.
- Cast Holy Veil on yourself before you're the subject of 'Degen' Hexes, then cancel it when they are on you.
- Do not use Purge Conditions for one Condition, save it for an ally suffering from a lot of Conditions.
Edits to original post- Modified Attribute allocations
- Swapped Restore Life for Rebirth

Here's my R/Mo running build, having just completed a test run from LA to Sanctum Cay.
Note - thes are my 'normal' attribs, for hard runs, I drop marks down and put up Expert and WS a little but it isn't necessary for easy runs
Expertise: 9+1
Wilderness Survival: 9+3
Marksmanship: 12+1+1
Escape {E} - an awesome elite, hard to cap so get a troll-farming buddy to help, but it's worth the effort
Storm Chaser - best used whilst other skills are recharging or when no enemies are around
Dodge - good burst of speed to clear most small mobs
Zojun's Haste - same as dodge but for factions chars (get it in Kaineng)
Mend Ailment - mainly for cripple/poison incidents
Troll Unguent - hard heal, not ench so can't be stripped like HB can
Holy Veil - to save you from hexes
Rebirth - hard res but don't really need it unless you're doing a dual run

I love the addition of Zojun's haste in factions because it means I can completely drop the wilderness survival line with my R/Mo running build. Here's what I use:
Healing Breeze/Mending (depending on the area)
Heal Area
Holy Veil
Purge Conditions
Zojun's Haste
Dodge
Escape
Whirling Defense/Mend Ailment/Smite Hex (depending on the area)
Attributes:
Healing: 12
Expertise: 14 (12 + 1 + 1)
I use a +30 health weapon and a +45/-2 stance shield for most runs. I also have a +29(always)/-3(hexed) shield that I use for some runs. I'm still trying to get ahold of a +5 energy axe with a nice skin that I can put a +30 health mod on.
I just made a video for droks running with R/W. Here it is:
http://files.filefront.com/Q_ForgeRu.../fileinfo.html
Don't pm me asking for runs, though. The purpose of this is to help people help themselves.
